 Requirements/Experience: We are seeking seasonal employees, specifically for third-shift Dairy farming operation. Starting pay $10.50 per hour; 8-hour shifts; incentives possible. Experience is a plus; however, there is no dairy, livestock, or agriculture experience required, only a willingness to work hard with an open mind to learn. Driver’s license preferred but not required. This is a drug, alcohol, and tobacco free workplace.

Title: Cow Dairy Pusher

Job Duties:

  • Posted in second position at 60-stall dairy carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Calmly, effectively, and safely aids the cows in getting onto the carousel by practicing low-stress cattle handling techniques to avoid touching, yelling, whistling or making sudden movements at the cows
  • Using push gate to encourage cows to move forward on their own
  • Observing cows to take note of any that are lame or appear abnormal in any way
  • Rinsing manure from the loading chute, flushing pen

Title: Cow Dairy Strip Technician

Job Duties:

  • Posted in second position at 60-stall dairy carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Stripping each teat a minimum of three times
  • Observing each cow for color, odor, and consistency of milk stripped onto the carousel and calling attention to any abnormalities
  • Marking letter of affected teats on the carousel for  the Wiping Technician to address
  • Checking that all hoses are properly connected to the milking unit, and milking units are straight and ready to be attached

Job Duties:

  • Posted in third position at 60-stall dairy carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Wiping the individual teats of each cow 
  • Placing or removing plugs indicating bad teats
  • Re-attaching any hoses and alerting floater of any damaged milking units

Title: Cow Dairy Milking Technician

Job Duties:

  • Posted in specified area at 60-stall dairy carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Paying attention to instructions from Strip and Wiping Technicians
  • Using appropriate technique to place milking unit on each cow, taking care not to kink or damage the teats as the unit is attached

Title: Cow Dairy Floater

Job Duties:

  • Posted in 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock positions of the carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Ensuring cows are being milked in an efficient, effective, and safe manner as they travel around the carousel
  • Monitoring appearance of the milk and cow, watching for mastitis, lameness, hoof wraps, sores/wounds, and general health
  • Removing hoof wraps as needed
  • Maintaining individual milking units on the carousel, including but not limited to fixing damaged hoses, changing filters, reattaching fallen milking units, etc.

Title: Cow Dairy Back Dip Technician

Job Duties:

  • Posted at the last five stalls of the carousel. Job requires standing during shift, and following SOP’s posted in parlor
  • Dipping each teat fully so that the cow teats/udders are protected from infection
  • Observing cows exiting carousel, and assisting any cows having difficulty
  • Communicating with Herder, Floater, Pusher to keep herds separated and to stop/start the carousel as needed.

Title: Goat Dairy Parlor Technician

Job Duties:

  • Milking (follow SOP’s posted in parlor)         
  • Maintain the milking parlor and all equipment
  • Washing and sanitizing pumps and milk tanks
  • Pre and post milk bulk tank measurements
  • Holding pen, transfer lane, and barn maintenance and cleaning
