Canceled – Blood Drive October 2018
The next Red Cross Blood Drive at Heartland will be held,Thursday, October 25th in the HCA Gym from 2:30-7:00pm.
WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE BLOOD?
Your blood donation can make a significant impact in someone’s life. Blood is needed for many different reasons. Your donation could be used for the little girl with a rare blood disorder, a family member fighting cancer, a new mother suffering complications from childbirth or a friend involved in a car accident. A supply shortage means that blood may not be available when it’s needed most. One donation can help save up to three lives because your blood is separated into its components – red cells, plasma, and platelets – to treat patients with different needs.
For eligibility questions call the Red Cross at (866) 236-3276 or visit the Red Cross website. No appointment is necessary, but donors are welcome to register at the Red Cross website for a specific time to give (sponsor code: HeartlandMinistries), or call 1-800-RED CROSS with your preferred time.
You may also visit the Red Cross website and follow online instructions to complete RapidPass, allowing you to complete the pre-reading and donation questions online before you visit the donation center. Simply click here – redcrossblood.org/RapidPass – and follow the online instructions to get your redeemable pass. The steps to redeem the pass must be done on the day you donate.
